About the Community
The Open Source for Energy Access (OSEA) Community exists because delivering sustainable, affordable energy to everyone is still a complex challenge. Projects in the sector often operate in isolation, solutions are not always reusable, and valuable knowledge is hard to find or apply in new contexts. OSEA brings together people who want to change that by working in the open and sharing what they build.

The Energy Access Challenge
Behind every statistic is a family studying by candlelight, a clinic without refrigeration, or a community locked out of economic opportunity. The energy access gap is not just an infrastructure problem — it is a barrier to dignity and development. While the world has made strides, the numbers tell us we are not moving fast enough. Solving this will take more than investment alone; it demands open collaboration and shared solutions that anyone can adapt and deploy.
